After all, our expert guides live in the regions we walk. In fact, their families have often resided in a particular area for centuries. This intimate knowledge of the land allows them to adapt to unforeseen circumstances. During a thunderstorm in Italy, for example, you may find yourself seeking shelter in an ancient stone mill. Suddenly, you’re enjoying an impromptu olive-oil tasting, learning to make traditional pasta, touring the farm museum, laughing at amusing anecdotes, and then eating lunch—with the guide’s family who have owned the property for generations.

Our resident guides are with you throughout the trip, sharing their passion for world travel and providing you with behind-the-scenes access and unique encounters you couldn’t arrange on your own. Fluent in English and their native language, they are able to open doors wherever you travel and present an insider’s perspective on the people, places, and traditions of local cultures.
