Montana & Wyoming: Yellowstone

The wonder and grandeur of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and Montana are awe-inspiring.
The diversity of wildlife you see along the walks makes it worth the trip alone; you may spot elk,
bison, antelope, snowshoe hares, coyotes, bighorn sheep, porcupines, and black and grizzly bears. Birds are abundant, too: the unexpected white pelican with its nine-foot wing span, trumpeter swans, kingfishers, and osprey, to name a few. The trout fishing is some of the best in the world, as lovingly captured in Norman MacLean’s memoir, A River Runs Through It. The park’s Petrified Forest is among the largest in the world, containing many standing specimens in pristine condition. It also contains two thirds of the world’s geysers, including Old Faithful, as well as 10,000 other thermal features.
While the walks certainly highlight the most stunning and famous sites in Yellowstone, such as the
Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and Old Faithful, your local guides also bring you into the incredibly remote and spectacular backcountry. Here you explore thermal hot springs, petrified forests, and alpine regions seldom visited by tourists. The tour culminates with a spectacular hike up Mt. Washburn, where you picnic amidst wildflowers and enjoy some of the most stunning views in the area. As a result of the nonstop natural beauty, photo opportunities abound. If you prefer to capture images in your mind, binoculars are essential.
"The knowledge of the guides makes these trips spectacular. Their expertise enhanced the experience, making it truly memorable."
